Interview with Mark Vieth, President of Nick's Sticks

LCG Foods sat down with Nick's Sticks President, Mark Vieth, and asked him some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know. 

What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today?  Nick’s Sticks was started in order to provide consumers with high quality, healthy meat snacks using grass fed beef and free range turkey. The company now also creates free range chicken sticks, too*. Nick’s Sticks are Keto Certified, Paleo Certified, Gluten Free and Whole 30 Certified. We are constantly in stride to create a healthy meat snack option for our consumers.   What are your company’s core values? Providing a quality product to consumers at a reasonable price while giving them excellent customer service. We also stand strong behind our slogan ‘All the Goodness. None of the Garbage’. We want to create a healthy, on-the-go, protein packed snack option – which is why we have eliminated sugar, MSG, antibiotics, gluten, nitrites, hormones, and artificial coloring. We also focus on creating a rewarding work environment for our employees.   If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be? a. We have the cleanest ingredient deck in the market  b. We manufacture our products in house  c. We have exceptional customer service    What are some of the challenges that you've overcome to bring your business to its current state? The Snack Stick Market including Natural Snack Sticks is very competitive. The recession of 2007-2008 was extremely challenging.   What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I love to participate in all kinds of outdoor recreational activities – camping, biking, running, golfing. I'm also committed to serving in the community and at my church.
