LCG Foods sat down with the Sales and Marketing Team of PB2 Foods Inc, and asked them some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know.

What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today? The founder of PB2 Foods Inc was motivated by a challenge. In 2007, PB2 Foods Inc was created after a meeting with a United States Department of Agriculture Deputy Under–Secretary. The USDA challenged us to find new uses for the 1.1 billion pounds of surplus peanuts owned by the department. The company, PB2 Foods Inc, was founded as an agricultural research company and began developing powdered peanut butter products. The first two products that pioneered this category were The Original PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter and PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter with Cocoa. From there, the rest is history.
What are your company’s core values? Since we pioneered, PB2 Foods has been committed to perfecting our technique. We are continually working with our family of farmers to create pure and simple products to help you live better and happier. Our expert roasting methods create the cleanest, best tasting products, and we are mindful of each step along the way. At PB2 Foods, we are on a mission to improve our community, connect farmers to families, and inspire healthy, balanced living. We believe that our line of plant-based products can help you find the balance in everyday life, feel confident in your choices, and be present every day. If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be? a. PB2 is the Original Powdered Peanut Butter. We are the creators, the inventors, the pioneers to powdered peanut butter. We were the first company to market with these products.
What are some of the challenges that you've overcome to bring your business to its current state? When PB2 Foods Inc was founded and created its first two powdered peanut butter recipes, they initially took to internet sales. As consumers discovered and tried, the product demand grew quickly. As consumer demand increased, retailers across the country began to reach out. In 2008, PB2 Foods launched its two powdered peanut butter in a brick and mortar retail store. Once the items were placed in one retail store, many others followed. Switching from internet sales to brick-and-mortar retail and a quick jump in demand was one of the first challenges that PB2 Foods had to overcome to bring the business to where it is today. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? At PB2 Foods, we believe in finding the balance in everyday life. Our PB2 Family is a diverse group of people from all different walks of life. We all enjoy spending quality time with our families and friends when not at work. Our team stays active in our personal lives, but we also stay active in our communities. We support our local schools, businesses, and non-profits, by participating in races, giving presentations to students, and donating our time. We also fundraise for United Way by doing food drives and Toys for Tots.
