LCG Foods sat down with the owner of San Remo Food Importers, Ltc., David Renzullo, and asked him some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know.

What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today? San Remo Foods emerged as a natural progression from Renzullo Food Market, my parent’s Delicatessen and Confectionery store founded by Carmelo and Ella Renzullo in 1964 in East Vancouver. This establishment continues to flourish even today. During that era, my father, a trailblazer in his own right, ventured into importing a diverse range of products from the Italian Peninsula to Vancouver. These included premium Italian olive oils, tomatoes, coffees, pasta, chocolates, biscuits, and candies. What are your company’s core values?
If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be?
What are some of the challenges that you’ve overcome to bring your business to its current state? Managing the supply chain for imported Italian food products involves careful coordination with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining product quality and freshness throughout the journey. The food industry is highly competitive, and the Italian food sector is no exception. Establishing a unique selling proposition, differentiating from competitors, and building brand recognition can be challenging.
